Chain the warp
Put lee sticks in the cross of the chains and spread out the warp for winding onto the back beam using a rattle.


Ready to thread the heddles = oops not emough heddles. Removed the first 4 shafts to add heddles.

Threading heddles, using the cross on the lee sticks. Thread shaft1, shaft 2, shaft 3, shaft 4, and repeat until all threads are threaded.

Two layers

Weaving sequence
Raise shaft 1, Raise shafts 1, 2, 3, Raise shafts 1, 3, 4, Raise shaft 3.
Threads on shafts 1 and 3 are the top layer while threads on shafts 2 and 4 are the bottom layer.
Weaving finished, cut the warp off at the back beam.

Repair any weaving errors, wash by hand, let dry. Trim fringe edges. Finished: 46″ x 80″ without fringe, 46″ x 92″ with fringe.
Woven on a 26″ wide loom, double weave allowed me to weave 46″ wide fabric.
