About/Contact

I loved art as a child. Besides drawing, my mother taught me how to embroider and my sister taught me how to crochet. In college, I studied multiple disciplines in art as an art education major. My favorite medium was fiber and I focused on weaving and for my MA Ed at Northern Illinois University, I did a one-woman show. My talents include weaving, spinning (often dog hair yarn for clients), kumihimo (Japanese braiding), Japanese bookbinding, tassels, ribbon flowers, and felting – sculptural hats and flat scarves.

I taught elementary school art for 13 years and taught Weaving at Joliet Junior College for 3 semesters. I have been a speaker and workshop leader at local guilds as well as at regional and national fiber conferences. I have won awards for and sell fiber art at art fairs in the Chicago area.
